Matthew D. Newman, a member, joined the firm in 1999, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, domestic relations (including custody and post-divorce motions practice) and criminal defense.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Mr. Newman graduated from Connecticut College in 1979 and received his law degree from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 1985, where he was a member of the Law Review. Mr. Newman is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut (1985), and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut (1986).
Mr. Newman currently serves as a Family Special Master for the Superior Court, District of Bridgeport (2002-present).Mr. Newman’s community service includes appointments to the Town of Woodbridge Plan and Zoning Commission (1999-2001), and the Board of Directors of Temple Beth David, Cheshire (2006-present). Mr. Newman is a member of the Greater Bridgeport, Connecticut and American Bar Associations, and was selected by the Connecticut Law Tribune as one of the "Dozen who Made a Difference - 2009".
