"Charles E. Kriewald Scholarship"

Dear Fellow Chapter Members,

As mentioned at the 2009 Law Enforcement Dinner, the Southern CT Chapter has created a scholarship in the name of chapter member Charles E. Kriewald.  In 2008, Chuck was the recipient of the prestigious “E.J. Criscoli, Jr. CPP, Volunteer Leader of the Year Award”.  This award included a cash portion in the amount of $2000.00, given by the ASIS Foundation to the chapter.  Earlier this year, the Board voted to create three scholarship opportunities for the chapter members using these funds.  The first opportunity in the amount of $1000.00 will be designated as the "Charles E. Kriewald Scholarship".  The recipient of this scholarship will be eligible for submission to the ASIS International Foundation under their matching grant program.   If a scholarship is awarded to a chapter member, the Foundation doubles the chapter's award, up to $1,000.  If a scholarship is awarded to a student, the Foundation matches the amount up to $500. The Foundation funds 50 Chapter Matching Scholarships per calendar year. Limit one per chapter.

If you have any questions with regard to this process, please feel free to call me.

Sincerely,

Al Sparaco
Membership Committee
