Tuesday, May 5, 2009 Agenda The Meeting was called to order by Al Sparaco at 18:20 The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Al Sparaco Invocation was led by Chuck Kriewald Chapter Business Al Sparaco he went through the history of ASIS with their 37,000 members he talked about the standards and the Job Bank. Al mentioned the annual ASIS conference seminar and told everyone that all members were given a ticket tonight to be in the drawing to receive a free pass to the conference Al Sparaco mentioned the Scholarships available to members and told everyone to email us if they new anyone who wanted to participate. The chapter gives out 500.00 for professional development and 500.00 for someone studying criminal justice. Al Sparaco introduced the board members and our guests Robert Johnson RVP and Gary Miville ARVP The Treasurer’s report will be on the web site when completed and posted on the web site. We will now serve dinner and the speakers John Danaher III and Richard Blumenthal will be speaking after dinner. Meeting adjourned 20:01

April – Still looking for a speaker May – Golf tournament scheduled for May 8th June – Law enforcement night, the guest speaker will be Wayne Sandford from the Department of Home Land Security.

1. Security Management Resources, Inc. is looking for a Protection Services Specialist in Oahu Hawaii the base salary listed is $99-117K 2. MasterCard Worldwide is looking for a Business leader , Security and risk services no salary given 3. Mckesson is looking for a Regional Director of Corporate Security with no salary given. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 The Meeting was called to order by Al Sparaco at 18:08 The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Al Sparaco Invocation was led by Chuck Kriewald Introductions were made of Bruce Lewis our Regional Vice President and Steve Six our Assistant Regional Vice President. Some of our board members attended a regional leadership training today and they were both gracious to join us tonight. Bruce was named Regional Vice President of the year for 2007 for his contributions to ASIS. Hugh Kline our chapter secretary gave a presentation to the members on the resources available through the ASIS International website. Secretary’s report for December was distributed to the tables for members to read. The Treasurer’s report was not available for December, but will be on the web site when completed and available for viewing or download Old Business · The Web site has not been functioning properly. The server has been updated and the site was not directed properly to it. The issue was corrected last night so we should not have any more issues. · We are in the process of distributing a survey to the members giving us some feed back of where we are and where you as members want us to go as we grow as a chapter. · We have some speakers set up as follows: March –someone from MasterCard international talking about credit card fraud. Champion, Sr. Director, Auto Test Center, Consumers Union May – Golf tournament scheduled for May 8th June – Law enforcement night, the guest speaker will be Deputy Commissioner Wayne Sandford of the Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Home Land Security. · We are looking for corporate sponsors for the 2008 year. We only had one corporate sponsor this past year so; if you can sponsor a meeting please contact us. We need your help in getting the attendance up. We send out the email reminders and the phone calls but, would like you to reach out to your colleagues and remind them of the meeting. New Business · Scholarships funds will be restarted this year and we will be looking at the membership to help us on a scholarship committee going out to students looking at careers in Criminal Justice or law enforcement. National has a matching scholarship program which will match our award 500.00 for a non member and 1000.00 for members. · We are looking for your input to the chapter. If you have a talent please let us know. We want you to contribute to something you want to do not something we force you to do. Come up to any board member and let us know how what your talents are and we will find a way to make them work to help the chapter succeed. · We want to bring back the Snowflake Dance which was mentioned in December. We will need help from a committee to help us plan the event. If you are interested please let us know. · All members are welcome to attend our board meetings held at 16:00 hours the day of the chapter meeting. Please come early and contribute. · Steve Six mentioned that they are having a meeting with the long island chapter to Plum Island on February 19th from the old saybrook docks. They also have a meeting at Health Net in Shelton on March 13th with Richard Widup Jr. Board of Director for ASIS International speaking about the goals of the global ASIS organization. · Joe Morales talked about three employment opportunities; many more on the web site. 1. ASIS Southern CT October 2nd 2007 Old Business 1) Debbie to get a speaker for the Nov 13th meeting. Frank will also contact MasterCard 2) Harry Azano will be the speaker for Dec 3rd meeting - Critical Incident Planning from the Private Sector 3) Speaker Gift Pens have arrived. Frank ordered 1 doz. and Al S. has them 4) ASIS Conference - Frank attended and is unable to locate any potential speakers in the area 5) Regional Conference/Meeting - Sch Oct. 30th - conference call - Nov. 14th meeting in Springfield, MA (Frank is on vacation and unable to attend, board members should attempt to go), Nov. 27th conference call. As soon as Frank receives notification on all the above he will email everyone. 6) Certificates and New Members - Frank has emailed all members that certificates have been received and new members notification to attend the Oct 2nd meeting. 7) CPP, Asset Protection Manuals - Rob M has agreed to be the keeper. Hugh and Debbie to get materials to Rob. Mike M suggested chapter purchase study materials for the other certifications - PSP etc.. New Business 8) Dinner Meetings cost - as of Jan 1st the cost for dinner at the Sons of Italy will go from $31.50 to $34.34 an increase of about $3.00. At the present time we have to guarantee 25 people per meeting. Mike M suggested to see if we can get it to 20 people per meeting. Chuck will check on this. Also discussion on yearly fee for 8 meetings for $200.00 instead of $240.00. Frank and Marty will put something together for the web page. 9) Golf Tournament - Board wants to have a 2008 Golf Tournament. Frank suggested we don't want to butt up against the TPC/GHO like we did this year. Debbie will speak to Bill Miller to contact other associations such as Conn. ASIS Chapter, BOMA, as well as the TPC/GHO to see when they are scheduling their tournament next year so there won't be any conflicts. 10) Law Enforcement Night - Board wants to do this again. We should start thinking of a potential speaker. 11) Web Page - Marty will check with his neighbor who developed the web page about getting it moved over.

"Teti wrote: I want to thank all of you who were able to attend the board meeting on Wed. night. It was very productive and I am confident that the remaining of the year will be profitable for our chapter. Here are the minutes of the meeting:
1) Law Enforcement Night - We had 159 people registered,
114 people showed up, there were 10 ½ tables sponsored. After
expenses which included dinner, raffle gifts and pay pal we had
a loss of $ 507.73 2) Golf Tournament - We had 72 players registered to play. After expenses which included golf, pro shop, signage, raffle tickets, shoe bags and pay pal fees we had a profit of $807.39 a. It was discussed to have this again next year and to invite Bill and Bryan to the Oct Board meeting to discuss locations and dates. Debbie can you invite Bill and Bryan to attend the Oct 2nd board meeting at the Sons of Italy at 4:00 pm. 3) Year to date Treasury Report - As of Dec. 31, 2006 we had $22,433.15 in savings and $3,831.71 in checking, for a total of $26,264.86. As of August 31, 2007 we have $19,556.41 in checking and $5,490.93 in checking, for a total $25,047.34. We are showing a loss of $1,217.52 for the 2007 fiscal year. 4) Meeting dates for 2007 and 2008 are Oct. 2nd, Nov. 13th (note 2nd Tuesday due to election day also Frank will not on vacation and unable to attend this meeting) Dec. 3rd, Jan 8th (note 2nd Tuesday due to Jan 1st Holiday also it was decided to ask members if we wanted to have this meeting in Jan. or pass as we did last year). Feb 5th - this is as far as we have scheduled. a. Chuck indicated the present cost for dinner at the Sons is $31.00. They are planning on increasing it to $34.00 starting Jan. 1st. It was decided to keep the $30.00 registration at this time and to review it by year end. We have to guarantee 25 attendees. Mike M. suggested lowering this to 20 attendees guaranteed. Chuck will inquire. 5) Speakers and Gifts - Oct 2nd speaker is set. We need a speaker for Nov and Dec. Frank will contact Harry Azano who indicated he wanted to speak and also Jim Hart who has a speaker form John Jay College who may want to speak. Speaker Gifts - Frank indicated the glass plaques we have been handing out cost $70.00 each. Greg Kalafus had ordered a dozen and NEC Trophies has one left. It was decided to review what items ASIS has instead of ordering more of these plaques. Frank will review what ASIS has for gifts. 6) Foundation Donation - It was decided not to donate any money to the Foundation this year. 7) ASIS Conference. Las Vegas. Frank will be attending and will make a report at the Oct. meeting. Dale S. indicated there are no set rules by national that this has to be offered to members first. 8) Regional Meetings/Conference calls - regional conference calls with Bruce Lewis and Steve Six are scheduled on Oct. 30th and Nov. 27th. When Frank receives email he will let everyone know. The all day training session will be held on Nov. 14th in Springfield, MA all board members are encouraged to attend. 9) Membership Roster - Frank received the latest membership roster a week ago and sent it to all board members. There are approx 10 new members Frank has received names of this summer. Also Frank has 6 membership certificates. Frank will email all new members to attend and members to receive their certifcates to attend the Oct 2nd meeting. Debbie do you have any certifiates of members that need to be contacted to attend? 10) Board Nominations - Debbie is 1st Vice Chair and indicated she did not want to move up to Chairperson. Al S. has indicated he would move up to Chair. Hugh would remain as secretary and Marty who has held the Tresurer and Web page as indicated he would stay on as Tresurer but would like to have someone takeover the Web Page. Rob M hs indicated he would take over the Web page beginning Jan. 1st. Thank you all for your help.
Joe Morales agreed to continue in the Placement, Chuck agreed to Chapter Historian, Dale agree to the CPP Review, Bo agreed to Homeland Security, Rob M Web page, Mike Private Sector, Frank Past President. We need to fill the following: Foundation, Scholarship, and Programs. Frank indicated Steve Six wants photo's of everyone for each position on the Web page
10) Other - CPP review materials and Assest Protection Manuals. Rob would like to be the keeper of these materials. Debbie and Hugh and you make arrangement to get thes to Rob maybe at the Oct 2nd meeting.
